and as the ADA and 504 consultant, I would like to welcome you to Arkansas State
University, Disability Services. Disability Services focuses on
facilitating opportunities to stimulate and create a barrier free environment,
eliminating academic, social, and physical obstacles which impede students’
access to a higher education. We believe every student has the right to
achieve to their highest ability academically, socially, and
intellectually. It is important for individuals who anticipate attending
ASU to acquaint themselves with our facilities, grounds, rehabilitation
services, academic requirements, support services, and specific cost. This
insight will assist in ensuring academic success.
Prospective and newly admitted students with disabilities have every
opportunity to achieve at ASU. The campus offers a variety of planned programs
to ensure student participation in diversified campus activities. These
activities address gender, disability, diversity, international, and cultural
issues. The University is committed to providing guidance and information
assisting students to make timely preparation and plans for attending college.
Other services offered include assistance in evaluating ones strengths and
weaknesses, encouraging independence for managing daily academic and
non-academic routines. These services are designed to create a successful
college experience at ASU.
Sincerely,
Dr.
